TANKSFORSALE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS PAGE

If you have not dealt with us before the first and most obvious questions are; Do I trust this company? and will I get the vehicle as described at the price originally agreed? Other questions about export and transport experiance will also arise.

I will hapily supply you any number of references from within the UK and abroad with whom I have had a long and good business dealings, and point you in the direction of prominent and long standing persons in the Military Vehicle hobby from whom you may seek an impartial reference should you choose.

On all deals my commitment to buyers is as follows:

1)An agreed and quoted price for a vehicle will be what you pay no more.If cost overruns occur on my side as part of the deal(transport and restoration costs for example)you will not be expected to a pay more.

2)Most of the vehicles I offer for sale are wholly owned by myself, and are offered for sale in the UK with unencumbered title. IF this is not the case I will make this crystal clear both on this website and in my quotation to you.

3)For customers outside the UK I undertake to apply for export licences for vehicles exported. If for whatever reason I am unable to obtain an export licence I will return any deposits for vehicles in full. NB At the time or writing I have never had a licence refused.

4)You will recieve the vehicle as described and as seen. You will not pay for a vehicle then recieve a different one, or with half its bits missing.

5)With regard to procurement of vehicles I do not have in stock. I offer a procurement service for a fixed or negotiated fee. I believe in transparent accounting and infomation disemination during this process.

IMPORT / EXPORT / TRANSPORT /LICENCES

We have over 15 years experiance in the field of Military Vehicle import and export. We specialize in the export of ex-warsaw pact vehicles from Central Europe. We import, export both armoured and softskin vehicles worldwide. We hold a varying stock of vehicles into the UK, and can import vehicles directly to order on behalf of customers. We undertake any neccessary export and provide assistance in any special import proceedures if applicable .
Most Tanks, Trucks and Jeeps for sale are located in England, unless stated otherwise.
Despite the additional cost we have found that customers are far happier buying vehicles from the UK rather than from the former Soviet Union with all the export uncertainties .

Frequently asked questions are as follows:


"I've bought a vehicle, now how do I get it home?"
"How do I pay for a vehicle? How do I safeguarding my financial interests when buying a vehicle from abroad?"
"I live outside the UK Do I need an import licence?-can you arrange this?"-
"Where do I get spares?"

Answers:

  • We can provide a transport /shipping service for any vehicle whether bought from tanksforsale or not. We have the expertese to move vehicles from jeeps to tanks.

  • We require a 25%- 50% deposit to confirm an order for a vehicle, then full cleared payment immediately before vehicles are released -usual methods being electronic transfer or bankers drafts. For large sums an ESCROW AGREEMENT/SERVICE can be negotiated for your peice of mind. References can be provided on request.

  • Import /Export paperwork service. we have experiance in legal and international protocols of import/exporting both armoured and softskin vehicles. Export from former eastern bloc countries is our speciality. We have exported vehicles worldwide including the USA.

  • If you are from the USA Normally an import licence is required-this MUST be applied for by the END USER we can give advice on where, and how to obtain this. Alternatively we have partners in the USA who have some import licences, and may sell you one "off the shelf".

We can undertake the Export licence application from the UK on your behalf
As with western Europe a well established spares network exists. We can source a large number of Czech and Russian vehicle spares.

Typical transport costs are as follows (Summer 2010):

Example 1. Bedford MW transported Preston to Dover £475

Example 2. Non running OT810 armoured halftrack transported Portsmouth to Glasgow £825

Example 3 OT810 from Liverpool Docks to New York £3700

Registering your vehicle for use on the road

In order to register them for use in the UK the following are needed:
1) Proof of import duty and VAT paid
2) Title Documentation or ownership documentation.
3) M.O.T.(dependant upon the age of the vehicle this may or may not be required, and for pre 1970 vehicles the rules are relaxed)
4) Insurance Cover (surprisingly cheap if through a specialist broker such as" footman James" I paid £259 last year to insure 3 vehicles for limited miles cover)
5) Road Fund Licence (Vehicles built prior to 1972 are exempt)
